The state level office of the Director, Food and Civil Supplies is located at Gandhinagar to carry out the above functions. While for the operation of this office, the District Supply Officer at the district level and the Taluka Mamlatdar at the taluka level perform their duties in their respective fields.

Distribution system of essential items

The Ministry of Food and Public Distribution Management of the Government of India allocates foodgrains and sugar on an annual / quarterly / monthly basis for public distribution. While the Ministry of Petroleum allocates kerosene on an annual / quarterly basis. At the beginning of the month, the quantity of essential items available at the state level is distributed in a district wise manner keeping in view the type of ration card holders, population as well as the standards of essential items available per card in the state. On the basis of which the district supply officers allocate for taluka (village) and urban taluka (zone). While Taluka Mamlatdars / Zonal Officers issue permits to fair price shops, kerosene retailers / hawkers on a monthly basis for distribution of essential items for distribution to card holders. Relevant fair price shopkeepers have to get the quantity mentioned in this permit from the godowns under Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation. While the Government of India's Oil Co. The quantity of kerosene permitted by the kerosene agents at Nimel and the district has to be arranged by the doorstep delivery at the fair price shop / kerosene retailer or hawker's place.

Ration card

Generally, every family residing within the state has the right to get a ration card. For this, the head of the family has to give full details in the prescribed form prescribed by the state government and apply to the office of the Taluka Mamlatdar / Zonal Officer of his area with supporting evidence. As per the provisions of the Citizen's Charter, the Taluka Mamlatdar Shri / Zonal Officer has to check the application of the applicant and as per the requirement, determine the category of the card, obtain the photos and biometric details of the head of the family / members, issue a barcoded ration card. Under the Barcoded Ration Card Scheme, the cardholder has to visit the e-gram / cybercafe on the basis of their biometric details and get the barcoded coupons of the quantity of essential items to be found according to the category of their card. If the mother herself suffers from hunger, she gives birth to a child with a weak body. In the womb of a pregnant woman with malnutrition, the developing baby does not receive the necessary nutrition from the mother, resulting in imperfect defects in the child’s physical development in the future. And so the baby weighs less even at birth. Due to poverty and economic hardship of the family, many women have to work till the time of delivery.

As a solution to this, the Government of India has launched the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana under the National Food Security Act of 2017, which will be implemented in all the districts of the country, out of concern for the health of pregnant women as well as newborns.

Purposes

To pay the mother who gives birth to the first child in cash as compensation from the government for the purpose of not going to work and resting during the prenatal and postnatal period.

Pregnant women and midwives get as much money as wages in cash so that they can get the comfort they need, resulting in physical development for themselves and their baby.

Target beneficiaries
All women except those employed in the Central Government, State Government or public sector units or receiving assistance as per the existing norms will be covered under this scheme during pregnancy as well as for six months after childbirth.

The scheme will benefit all pregnant women who give birth to the first child in the family after January 1, 2018 and mothers of breastfeeding children.

The gestation period will be calculated according to the date of menstruation as indicated in the medical certificate of the beneficiary woman.
In case of fetal miscarriage or stillbirth-
The scheme can be availed only once.

Women who have had a miscarriage or have given birth to a stillborn baby will be able to benefit from the plan during the next pregnancy.
If the beneficiary receives the first installment of financial assistance and the fetus falls later, then the remaining installment will be given after the first installment during the second pregnancy. In the same way, after deducting the amount of installments received, the remaining installments can be availed.

If a beneficiary of the scheme has received all the installments of assistance before delivery, then if a stillborn child is born, this assistance will not be available during the second pregnancy but after the birth of the child, the pregnant women will be entitled to the assistance.

Anganwadi worker, Anganwadi assistant or Asha worker sisters, if they are eligible to be beneficiaries in all other ways, they will be able to get the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Matruvandana Yojana.

Benefits of the scheme

A pregnant woman will be paid a total of Rs 5,000 for the purpose of using it for her physical development before delivery and after the birth of the child. A pregnant woman who registers at an Anganwadi Center or a government hospital has to pay the first installment of Rs. One thousand will be found.

The second installment of Rs 5,000 will be given at the time of medical examination after six months of pregnancy. The third installment of Rs 5,000 will be paid after the birth of the child after giving the child BCG, oral polio vaccine, DPT and hepatitis-B vaccine.

If financial assistance has been given to a woman giving birth in a hospital under Janani Suraksha Yojana, the amount will be taken into account and the above amount will be given to pregnant women as an incentive, which is given according to Pradhan Mantri Matruvand’s scheme, it will be a total of Rs.

Registration of women under the scheme:

While registering the name, the woman and her husband obtained Form-1-A, showing all the details in it, along with the required supporting evidence, they have to show their consent in writing by giving the woman and her husband’s Aadhaar number, mobile number, bank or post office account number. .

There is no need for registration form, and this form can be obtained from Anganwadi Center and Government Hospitals.
The beneficiary of the scheme has to get the acceptance number or receipt from the place where the form has been given after registering the name.

Forms were filled up in English, however for easy of understanding, heading of each column was described in Gujarati.

2.Training to Field staff about filling up the forms.

3.Training cum lectures for APO, Monitoring.

4.Survey at Field level by Gram Sevak, Teachers and Panchayat staff.

5.District wise scanning of forms and conversion of data to database.

6.Generation of error list through computer and correction of errors.

7.Verification of 10% of data by DRDA and correction of errors.

8.Compilation of data and generation of various query based reports.

There are about 68 lacks families surveyed in rural Gujarat. Total 19 parameters were captured which indicate the social and economic status of each family. Out of these 13 parameters are used to generate score of each family as per the guidelines of Government of India. Each parameter can have score ranging from 0 to 4. Thus each family gets his score out of 52. Various State and District wise reports indicating number of family at each score were prepared and submitted to department for further use.
