PIL i.e. Public Interest Application can also now be filed in the Consumer Forum. This could not have happened before


Up to 1 crore cases can be filed in the Consumer Court


State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission to hear cases ranging from Rs 1 crore to Rs 10 crore


National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission to hear cases worth over Rs 10 crore

It is worth mentioning that the Defense Act 2019 was drafted a long time ago. However, the law was to come into force a few months ago. However, it was avoided due to corona and lockdown. Its implementation will start from next week.
