No part of this booklet may be published in any form without the permission of the Director, Gujarat Council of Educational Research and Training, Gandhinagar. Introduction The whole of primary education after the implementation of NCF - 2005 and RTE - 2009 Curriculum restructuring became necessary. During this process of curriculum development it was decided that along with the textbook, one should also prepare a self-study book on the subject. The self-study book has been created by the experts involved in the process of textbook creation. So this self-study book is a supplementary study material to the textbook. The content given in the textbook is given with reference to definite study findings. That is, after the study of that lesson, a self-study book has been prepared for the self-study of the children. This self-study book has been prepared with the intention that if the child expects more help from the teacher in some matter during the self-study based on that study result, then the teacher will fulfill that expectation. This textbook is also useful to know how much achievement has been achieved in the study outcomes as part of continuous assessment of children under School Comprehensive Assessment (SCE). This self-study textbook is extremely useful for filling in the details of the Constructive Assessment Form-A provided for student assessment under the school holistic assessment. Thus, this self-study book is expected to be used not only as a tool for evaluation but also as a tool for continuous diagnosis and treatment. Which is the belief that those subject teachers will fulfill this expectation.

Curriculum, syllabus and textbook restructuring process under RTE-2009 as well as NCF-2005 in primary education. Under TLP (Total learning Package) the idea of developing a textbook corresponding to self-study book was implemented. A total of nine areas are determined for study outcomes in the subject of mathematics, including mathematics, four mathematical operations, mathematics in everyday life, geometry, measurement, number 4/64 statistics and the computer.
This self-study book is designed to combine what students have learned with constructive assessment of further study outcome verification. Questions that help children develop reasoning, creativity, problem solving and critical thinking, develop students' comprehension and develop skills by applying the learned knowledge are included in this self-study book. Examples based on four mathematical operations are given on the cover of the self-study book.
Based on which the teacher will be able to know the ability of the student. Examples are given according to the study findings so that remedial work can be done by taking continuous note of the achievement achieved by the student.
The teacher will be able to check the self-study book after completion of the unit and use it as a basis for Form-A of Continuous Comprehensive Assessment. In addition the student will be able to do remedial work regarding study outcomes. In addition, at the end of the chapter, the parents should be informed about the progress of the student by noting the good aspects and corrective matters regarding the unit.
