 The Rohtang lair will reduce the distance between Manali and Kelang by about 45 km. The Lahore- Spiti ethnical area, which has been cut off from the country and the world for six months due to snowfall in the lair, will be connected to the world for 12 months of the time. 




It's worth mentioning then that this is being considered as the longest business lair in the world at an altitude of about 12 thousand bases. About Rs crore will be spent on its construction.

In the future, this lair will also serve as a lifeline for the army stationed in Leh Ladakh. One further lair is being constructed below the lair, which will be used for deliverance operations in an exigency. It's being erected by Strobag- Afcon, a common adventure between Austria and India, under the supervision of BRO.
