People around the world are facing an economic burden of Rs 45,000 crore due to this infection. About 40 percent of the world's population are women and 12 percent of men are infected at least once in their lives. In India, 5 out of 10 women and 3 men suffer from urinary tract infections.


What is a urinary tract infection?

According to Dr. Shikha Pandey, a cardiologist in Lucknow, a urinary tract infection is in fact an infection of the urinary system. It damages many parts of the urinary system, including the urinary tract. Irregular daily routine, eating and drinking is the biggest reason.




Inflammation occurs when a person with a urinary tract infection passes urine. It can also cause serious illness like prostate cancer if not treated at the right time.


The big reason this infection is growing in the world is that people don’t know about it. People don't even talk about it and there is a lack of awareness.




5 Symptoms of Urinary Tract Infection-


1- Frequent urination- This is the most common symptom of urinary tract infection, in which a person needs to go to the bathroom frequently. Usually people don't take this seriously, but this negligence can increase the transition.


2- Inflammation while passing urine: After this infection, there is an injury in the urinary tract, although this injury is minor but it causes inflammation. If you feel this way, contact your doctor without delay


3. Bleeding in the urine: Often many people get blood in the urine due to a urinary tract infection. This happens when the wound in the urinary tract becomes large. Excessive damage to the urinary system is also a cause of bleeding. According to experts, negligence at this stage can be overwhelming going forward


4. Pain in the lower abdomen: Often there is constant pain in the lower abdomen due to damage to the urinary system. Such individuals should consult a doctor immediately.


5. Pelvic pain in women: If a woman has pelvic pain, it may be due to a urinary infection. Women should not ignore this.


Nutrient deficiency is a major cause of urinary tract infections

Immunity is weakened due to lack of nutrients like vitamin B. Because of this the body cannot fight the bacteria that spread the infection and it causes a urinary tract infection.




Taking too many antibiotics weakens the immune system

Don't let the body become too dehydrated


If your body is constantly dehydrated, it means you are drinking less water. Urine changes color due to dehydration. Dr. Shikha said, the more dehydrated the body, the more yellow the color of the urine will be. Excessive dehydration can lead to urinary tract infections. Therefore, at least 4 to 5 liters of water should be drunk in 24 hours.
